ABOUT THE BAND

About

"Bleeding Hearts Family Band is a sheer treasure."

Tom Moog - owner Moog's Joint and Moog's Place

The Bleeding Hearts Family Band is all about sharing stories from our homeland of Northeast Vermont with friends, family, and the world at large.

We are a multi-instrumental, multi-genre collaboration between brothers JD and Will Miller, who grew up playing music in the green mountains of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom.

JD and Will began playing together as kids with their musician mother, Jeanne Segretto Miller, and over the last five years they have grown a loyal following across the northeast. While Will's facility is with mandolin and 12-string guitar and tenor voice, JD commands the room with his clawhammer banjo, guitar and deep baritone.

The two brothers can be seen performing with various artists all over New England and New York State, from the globe theatre at Highland Center for the Arts to New York's GREYFOX Festival, to Harry's Hardware in Cabot to the tiniest farmer's markets.

They regularly perform with bluegrass legend Bob Amos and often collaborate with Geoff Goodhue and Beg Steal or Borrow,  Carrie Cook, Jim Daniels, singer/songwriter Heidi Lauren Duke, and of course, Jeanne Segretto Miller.

Upcoming appearances include the Bearcat Boogie Festival in Johnson, Vermont, Jay Peak and Stowe Ski Resort, and new recordings to be released in Spring/Summer 2026.

Wherever they travel, the Bleeding Hearts welcomes seasoned musicians into the mix, growing the brothers' experience and making for an incredible show.  The one requirement is you need to love people so much it hurts, and that's what makes up Bleeding Hearts Family Band.
